The President's Corner

Robert M. Conley, Class of 1938, PHSAA 2005 Distinguished Alumni, was selected "Citizen of the Century" by the Rotary & Kiwanis Clubs plus the Paintsville Johnson County Chamber of Commerce joint meeting on Wednesday, June 23rd in the Argand Room of the Paintsville Ramada Inn.

Each year a person of quality is selected for their contributions to Paintsville and Johnson County.  This year the combined organizations selection was absolutely a "home run".  Bob, as I call him, was the best possible choice for many reasons, not the least of which is his ongoing contributions to this community.  His achievements are too numerous to mention but a couple of things Bob continues to work on is Board Member of the Kentucky Teachers Retirement System and treasurer of the Mayo Methodist Church.  He is also currently serving as a board member of the Paintsville Johnson County Library.

I am so proud to call Bob a friend and a supporter of the Paintsville High School Alumni Association; he was a charter member of the board of directors that established this organization and continues to support PHSAA.

Congratulations, Bob.  "Go Tiger ! "
